All sounds good to me.
There seem to be so many, makes sense to tidy up a bit.

If you are changing things I would like to see fewer "pinned" items at the top of each forum.
I like Jimbo's forum but I would like to comment on it.

Dear Folks,
I think we have a few obsolete forums at the moment.
Jimbo's blog is hardly used, as well as Bert's blog. I think we can savely move all the posts to the Fiction, Fraction Friction section and delete the forums.
Sally in Bali forum posts belong together, but the forum could become a sub forum of the FFF forum.
The Sumbawa forum was created for Dr Bruce, but he is not posting anymore, so I think the posts can be merged with the Bali expat forum, and the forum deleted.
The Lombok sections are not used much anymore either, so the same fate as the Sumbawa forum, I think.
The Expatriate Pictures website has been disabled by Bert, with reason of maintanance problems, so the forum can be merged and removed as well.
As extra forums I would suggest a Medical and Health stuff forum, and a specific Culture and Religion forum. This would mean some moving of other posts to those new forum.
Suggestions are Welcome.
Jimbo
No problem from me to delete my blog but it would have been nice to be asked direct.

IMHO the forum is convaluted with way to many subsections.
Why not have 1 Express Youself section to hold blogs, logs, literay delghts. If something has not been added to or refreshed in say 4 - 5 years surely its time it went. No offence to Sally_in_Bali but its dead and a waste of space as are many other posts.
Reference is relevant only if it is not dated.
Clean out the wardrobe I say..

Oh forgot to mention the language forums.
Also hardly used.
Dutch and German can be merged with the expat forum, I think, and the Indonesian and Bali language forum could me merged into one forum, and be reassigned to be a general "Language in Bali" forum...

I think Teddy is talking about moving your blog and deleting the forum, not deleting your blog, Jimbo.

Exactly, also i had tried to post on your blog site Jimbo but I could never access it .
Jimbo
It was designed that way Chilli. It was a blog of opinions rather than a forum for discussion. When I started it I had some ideas of stimulating some thoughts but there were objections from 1 or 2 individuals to me having a blog.
I decided therefore to shelve those ideas for another time.

JImbo,
I liked your blog but it was frustrating that I could not comment on your stimulating thoughts...Kind of like the an ex-girlfriend, she would get me all stimulated and then nothing else happened. :D :D

ditto.

A general comment. Because I use "View New Posts" or "View Active Topics" the posts from all forums are in one list. So the arrangement of the forums doesn't concern me much and I don't mind what re-organisation you do. Also don't think it is worth putting much effort into re-organising - just my opinion though.

I miss the recent post thing that scrolled......

That was the point :D :D Once you were stimulated you were supposed to start your own subjects. The Blog was never intended to be 100% true :D :D Although to date it was.

Hi...
what happened to the proposed or planned re-organisation?
Friendly greetings......Gilbert.

Great question Gilbert 8)
Have to agree with Ron B

There used to be this scrolling new strings and threads thingamajig at the top when you logged on.
That would be good if that could come back. It helps old guys like me (and Ron i think) remember where we are from time to time when we get a little busy with other things www.
my 2 cents worth hope it helps :D
