And please, don't get all personal over each other...
Roy
One thousand, one hundred and four views, and one hundred and forty six replies, why on earth start a new string Bert?
Bert Vierstra
Because its 10 pages.
Roy
So, what's the "magic" with 10 pages?

Here's something interesting.http://news.yahoo.com/story//ap/20080921/ap_on_go_pr_wh/cheney_lawsuitMore fun with Dick and George. They want to end their run in the executive branch with an evidence erasing shredding party. The lawsuit filed by CREW is necessary but in vain, I'm sure the incoming administration will be handing out pardons like party favors anyway. Justice will not be served.Korupci mengenai pemerintahan. :(

Anybody around who is around Ubud this Saturday morning who wants to watch the first debate between Obama and McCain, Brian at Naughty Nuri's is hosting a breakfast and brunch drinks special. Word is there might be one Republican there! Cheers!
milan
I hope there won't be any left wing conspiracy there... :x :( :)
Tim
Word is there might be one Republican there! Cheers
If I could make it Roy, there would be two
Roy
If I could make it Roy, there would be two
That would be great, but it looks like your candidate is pulling another political stunt so this debate may in fact not even happen! Of course what McCain wants is to "reschedule the first Presidential debate for next Thursday, October 2, and re-schedule the VP debate originally scheduled for that time to a later time." Tell me Tim, does McCain think the American people are that stupid as to not see right through this?

9:00pm, EST. The Commission on Presidential Debates and the University of Mississippi said they both were going forward with the preparation for the debate (on Friday).Representative Barney Frank of Massachusetts, who is leading House Democrats in negotiating the bailout deal with the administration, was dismissive of Senator McCain's announcement (to postpone this Friday's debate). "It's the longest Hail Mary pass in the history of either football or Marys," Mr. Frank told a group of reporters outside the House chamber.I have just heard, on the "Democracy Now" news hour that this "famous" Bush's 3-pages proposal for unconditional surrender of the US economy to the government had been in the making for the last SIX months!
Tim
To be truthful Roy, I don't think America "really wants or needs" either one of the candidates.Personally, I'm a Republican and have generally believed in their basic concept, excluding the reign of G.W. Bush. John McCain wasn't my choice as I don't think Obama was the choice of many Democrats. Arguing the differences between the two would make me one of those stupid Americans you refer to. :D
Tim
Maybe they should simlpy get their butts back to Washington for now....
Roy
Maybe they should simply get their butts back to Washington for now....
What they need Tim is to get in front of the American people so the American people can hear them out of typical stump speeches. As Obama alluded to, any American President ought to be able to walk and chew gum at the same time. In other words, handling several important issues at one time is par for the course in that job...or at least it's supposed to be.
milan
Country First. Just like when he passed up the first day of the Convention due to Ike Hurricane. In this sense, he's consistent and made a brilliant move inmh. In the end, Obama now has to come to Washington. Walk and chewing at the same time would be commendable if the problems are not as critical as what's happening now. Anyway, just my two-cents from one who's non American and not voting.

roy, i am of course completely in agreement with you on this.. another filthy republican stunt that really shows how little the republican strategists think of the minds of american voters (well actually i tend to agree with them - american voters are pretty dumb).. but this one might backfire on them.. mccain's just sweating coz he knows in an intellectual debate, obama would wipe his arse with him.. also, some really unfavourable mccain polling came out today and it's obvious that the mccain camp is in panic mode and is really ready to try anything to slow down or reverse obama's recent momentum..and god save us all - did you see the hog with lipstick today blundering over connections between a mccain camp guy and fannie / freddie, in her interview with katie from cbs? it was one of those things to watch, where she gagged so much you actually felt sorry for her, albeit only for 1/2 a second..http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2008/09/ ... 6173.shtmlwatch the video - if you just read the text, it rolls over her choking..ct

and god save us all - did you see the hog with lipstick today blundering over connections between a mccain camp guy and fannie / freddie, in her interview with katie from cbs?
Yes, I did catch that. I also caught Anderson Cooper rolling his eyes! This is pure theater, and history will mark campaign 2008 as the most bizarre in recent, if not all American history. She repeated herself twice to two different questions...and with the caveat, "as far as I've been told."If this election wasn't so important, it would all be great entertainment. Cheers.

Sent my vote in today. That was quite enjoyable - being involved again in American politics even if just with voting. I'm trying to get the bike working for the trip down to Ubud, Roy. If I can get everything together, I should be down there tomorrow afternoon. I'll give you a call.
Roy
That sounds great Doc. I look forward to seeing you again, and selamat on getting that vote in! Cheers and drive safely!

Here's text of the bailout proposal.http://money.cnn.com/2008/09/20/news/economy/treasury_proposal/index.htmIt'll be just like medieval times, serfs eking out an existence on royalty owned property :)Tintin,Six months is a long time in the banking world, are you suggesting that mortgage lenders were somehow in collusion with the Bush regime in this unconditional surrender of the US economy?A preplanned, already agreed upon surrender?Don

What they need Tim is to get in front of the American people so the American people can hear them out of typical stump speeches
Depends on what your priorities are, the crisis with our economy or entertaining the dinner crowd at Nuri's
