Yes the wet season provides many changes in what you see - sometimes dramatic. At 7am yesterday, there were storms over the Bali Sea to the north of us, as the sun rose with clear skies to the east, giving a rainbow that was bright at the north (wet) end. There must be a pot of gold somewhere.

In my old "battle grounds" of Grand Forks, North Dakota, it's minus 21 F (minus 29 C), winds at 25 km/hr, so it feels like minus 33 C. :!: But now, i'm not there to enjoy it.

Thanks for the weather reports, all.
It's nice out here in the forum lately as well, no?
mimpimanis
Yes it is, I wonder why that might be

Enjoying the relative calm while I can.
Quiet here around the homestead since our 16-yr-old is off @ school 6 nights a week 'til March building a robot to compete in this:

So hot here our trains can't run as the tracks and brackets have expanded n the heat.
mimpimanis
That sounds like a British Rail excuse
"leaves on the tracks"
"wrong kind of snow"
are a few more

Fordprefect,
That competition looks good to me. Good luck to your kids, we need more like him.

Flattered that you looked! Last March in Atlanta (world finals for this competition) we were up against teams from Conn., NY, Michigan, funded/financed by the likes of Raytheon, GM, GE, Chrysler, &c. and managed to hold our own (just above 50th percentile--not bad for home-grown/financed small-town effort)

I've found out we're not funding enough hard science here, and it's truly alarming. We're devolving into a nation of salesmen....
