Yes, but only for one month. He'll be back shortly.
BALIHI

Markit
Damned and I missed that too - I think I'll go over to his place and push some printouts from the bali pod through his door.
We should start some really contentious discussions now - that would drive him completely batshit
Maybe I'll restart the Wooden Houses string Ho Ha LOOL rotflmao

Balilife also is missing. Last I saw was an apology to Jack Daniels and then he disapeared.

Roy, Roy, Roy,
The "punishment" should be over by now
Probably he is getting his ammunition ready. Must be :P
Balilife also missing, as Jimbo stated. Certainly up to something, good I hope.

This is my last post too. I appreciate quite a few of you, but there are a couple that I could do without. LIfe is too short to be drowned by bigots and the ignorant. I wish the rest of you well.

No SG, not another one leaving! :(
I hope you too will take a break, miss us and be back soon. :)

Wow  One month ban !? You may or may not agree with Roy's position or tone but his knowledge of Indonesia (or Bali to be more accurate) seem to be fair to me and he (along with others) contributes to make a forum lively. I wonder what offense he could have done to deserve a one month ban !? :?:

I was going to post a link to where Bert explained the reason but the post seems to have been deleted.

Don't you think you should harden up a bit? Resorting to name calling is rather unproductive and after all you've had a pretty good run being critical of just about everything in Bali and Indonesia from the roads to the airport trolley wheels.
As an Indonesian lucky enough to receive a first class education in the UK and the US I am simply presenting the other side of the argument. Rather than "sticking my head in the sand", as you accuse everyone who doesn't agree with you, I am cognizant of the enormous challenges faced by Indonesia but I also believe credit should be given for the extraordinary advances the young nation of Indonesia has made over the last sixty years.

Many in here will agree with you on your statement. I think SG however tried to be honest in his appraisal of situations and was not deliberately calling Indonesia. I did not agree with much of what he said but he was only expressing an opinion and I would defend his right to do so.
The problem in this forum is that passion sometimes overides logic and things get said in the heat of the moment. All should just step back sometimes and reflect a bit before pressing the send button.

Bambang , the way you word your posts and select your adjectives leads me to believe you must have majored in English language and and spent most of your life abroad. Your command of the English is unparralelled with any Indonesian ive ever known. Compliments.
I enjoy your posts, although i dont praise the system here as readily as you.
Seems i joined just as a large chunk of interesting people got banned or booted. Do they ever have an amnesty day on the forum here for those who've sinned ? Maybe should consider it. Seems a good deal of passion is missing.
Bert Vierstra
Roy is not banned, anymore.
Not so many have got banned, I think.
Some people have left by themselves, for whatever reason.
BALIHI
Well as Bert said the ban is lifted , I would have thought he would have posted as soon as he could lots of topics right up his alley have been posted ?

One more post...if you'd bothered to read rather more carefully you'd also note that I've been very supportive of the progress this country has made. But I found your posts both dishonest, factually incorrect and, quite frankly, if you are Indonesian, . How's that for some names? The way you attacked Suzi personally, rather than constructively deal with her points was not that of a person who successfully had completed a 'first class education'. I'm sorry, but that was simply brutish and uneducated.
I love this country, which is why I live here, but my heart is torn by so much I see which doesn't have to be. It is not a 'young country'...it's sixty three years old. It's 10 years older than Malaysia, and 20 years older than Singapore, both of which are success stories. It's the same age as India which is also leaping ahead of Indonesia. To use that as an excuse is just that, an excuse. Indonesia has been held back for decades by excuses and grossly incompetent governance. It doesn't need to be this way.
Your answer is simply to make more excuses and then attack those who may critcise and hope for a better future for this nation's people. Suzi's comments were, with a couple of exceptions, constructive and much of it was and is easily achievable. For example you roundly attacked her for her comments on medical tourism. I found your response both insubstantial and phrased unnecessarily offensively. I too am privy to comments from medical professionals in this country telling me how incompetent government is holding medicine back. I hold their opinions in higher regard than you, but you were so arrogantly know it all in the way you answered Suzi.
Your comments on tourism were inaccurate and yet you sneered derisively as you presented them.
You criticise me for mentioning the roads....why do people have to die? To satisfy your excuse that it's a 'young' third world country? There is currently a massive hole in Jalan Kerebokan, on a corner. It's been there for a year or so. Two people I'm told have had serious accidents there and one has died. It's easily fixable. Nobody has bothered including the police who sit and look at it daily. I guess it's ok..it is after all, as you put it, a third world country. Unlike you, I care about things like that, and making excuses is just putting your head in the sand.
There are dozens of examples like that.
My comment about the exit tax (one of a series..which you happily pulled out of context), was also reiterated by ASEAN over several years. And part of the stated logic behind the Fiskal when it was first introduced a decade or so back, was to stem the flow of Indonesians wanting to exit and turning up on the doorstep of neighbouring nations. That was explained to me by my (Indonesian) lawyer when I first made application for a KITAS some years back. You decided to throw the word ludicrous into the response which was an attack. You may think education gives you the right to be arrogant, but the opposite is true. I think you have an awful lot to learn.
