Thanks Matsaleh.
I am much better now, just tired all the time. Dengue isnt very nice that is for sure. Although I am pretty sure I contracted it in Lombok over Christmas as that is when I was bitten, a neighbour of mine was in the same hospital at the same time with Dengue . So care is needed here as well not to be bitten.

Hi Gemma, take care of yourself and be patient with your recovery. I had a particularly bad dose of dengue in 1992 whilst living in Townsville (involved hospital too). It took about 6 months for me to get my energy (and 100% liver function) back afterwards.
Eau de Mozzie Repellent is now my favourite perfume
Cheers,

Mimpi sorry to read you have been unwell, hope you are well on the road to recovery quickly.

if someone could advise me how not to get bitten here.
The Balinese mozzies are different than those in the rest of the world - no really, no BS.
The Balinese Mozzy is a silent beast - that god-awful TsssszzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZ OUCH! That you get everywhere else is just eh OUCH! here - that's right, silent but deadly. They tend to go right up your cloths too so long trousers and shirtsleeves won't help you.
They are also very much smaller and more dainty than your average North American bully Mozzy.
The only way I've found is to smog bomb the bedroom 1 , 2 hours before bed then put on the AC and get it really cold - that kills the stragglers.
Autan is a last resort but who wants to live bathed in that stuff? I've heard that Oil of Cloves works wonders and is a natural product?
chilli
Hi Mimpi, let us know how you are going ?
mimpimanis
Hi Chilli
Sorry I didnt reply to your latest PM yet - I was waiting to see when I would feel up to getting out and about again. Infact the cupboards are bare so I have to go and do a shop tomorrow. I have been ptting it off for days but we are so low on stocks we had to have KFC delivered tonight! I'm not looking forward to it after spending most of the last two weeks curled up!
I had another blood test yesterday and my platelets are back up to normal but the doctor said it is normal to still feel so tired.
I will give you a call in the next few days and we can arrange somthing. :)

Thanks Ali - I am all better now. Seem to be well over it. However I am constantly hearing of more people going down with Dengue, friends and friends of freinds.... more than any year before, so keep covered up people and use replellent!
