Especially for mimpimanis :)
A spammer posts usually already at his of her first post:
1) Gobbeldigop messages with links to (sometimes obscure) websites.
2) Seemingly relevant messages, but with links to irrelevant websites.
Sometimes its a quasi relevant post, even with quasi relevant links in the signature, like Bali sites, but still the intention is to get a link, and never come back again.
Don't answer those nasties.

Did I answer a spammer????
I'm guessing it was the post about luxury accommodation. I didn't notice a link in their post though and it seemed genuine enough.
Never mind answering spammers I wish I could stop whoever is spamming using my email address. One day this week I had over 1000 bounce messages in in my inbox and junk mail folder. It's going to be a major pain when I am in Lombok and cant delete every day.

Sg I have my own domain hosted by Godaddy. I contacted them when it first started happening a few months ago and they gave me a very technical solution, which I couldnt understand. So the easy option was to get rid of the catch all email address - however I can either use one info@ or many. In reality I only use two info@ & gemma@ but because both are in guide books etc I dont want to lose either one. The bounce back messages are (supposedly) being sent from all sorts of other random@my domain.
So for now I put up with it and just delete them all every day

Just create the two email address, or create a forwarder for one to the other, and use only one. Using a catch all is asking for problems. :!:

If you are using Yahoo you can set it up to direct all Spam into: SPAM. You can delete them all in one go but check them first just in case some “Good” one end up there by mistake.
Regarding the INBOX you have to go into “My account” then “Manage Mail Options” then
“Block Addresses”
From the INBOX Just copy the useless addresses and paste them into the Block addresses field. They will never go to your INBOX again. I think you can block about 500.

Lumumba I am not using Yahoo but my own domain mimpimanis.com hosted by Godaddy.
Bert - I dont seem to have the option for two email addresses but will look into it again. Last time I checked it was the one that I first registered "info" or a catchall but yes if I could just have the two it would stop the bounce messages.

Not spam but quite funny is all the cute emails I get from asian teenagers telling me how much they love my music
bolli
Mimpi, i got all sorts of crap stuff just after I first joined facebook. I deleted my registration and it stopped. I rejoined a couple of months ago and it has begun again???
I don't know if FB is the cause but I am wary of the site.
mimpimanis
Ohh Bolli dont go leaving fb!
No I am sure this has nothing to do with FB as I have been on there a lot longer than when these problems started. Infact being slightly paranoid.... I had another theory a while back but I am over that now

Your ISP or mailprovider should be able to filter those. If you use Gmail or the like it should be automatic. Whoever provides you with your mailbox services should have that level of email filter available. It may be worth asking.
I have my own dedicated server in the US (it carries my wife's domains plus various other things I administer) and the company that supplies it keeps what gets to us clear of spam.
But I get the same..up to 1000 emails a day bounced back, they just don't make my computer's mailbox.
