Hi Adam, just a quick reply re medical insurance, from my recent experience. My wife came to perth on tempory spouse visa, we applied and got a medicare card immediatly and tax file number. Also added her to my HBF and then changed to MBF , had no probs at all. Is this what u are trying to do? get private medical insurance? Steve :D

Looks like I stuffed everything up. I got insurance through Worlds Nomands Travel for my partner as I was told he could not get a Medicare Card or private insurance until after he has the Spouse Visa. I was told to organise travel insurance and everything I tried was expensive and World Nomands was the cheapest
Sorry I just got back from Indonesia so just skimmed this thread. So I guess now I will ring Medibank Private and Medicare and see what they say.
