I need to get a baby car seat for our 26 month old daughter. Where can I rent or buy? I know they are not always used in Bali, but I would prefer to err on the side of safety. I can't recall ever seeing one on our many trips to Bali, but then again maybe I haven't been looking!!

Hi Dug you can get them in Cendy's Babyshop. I paid about 1.5 million I thnk for a Chicco one which is one of the better makes they have here. There were cheaper ones available also.
I am not sure of the name of the road that Clendy's is on but it runs parallel with the bypass. If you turn in to the airport road from the bypass and then first right. It is on the right hand side a couple of minutes drive down. Any taxi driver will know it I am sure.

I have a car seat for rent.
How long do you need it for and when?

Hi Gabriele
Curious as to what make your car seat is and how much it costs to rent?
Dug, although you did mention renting, I only noticed now. I jumped to the conclusion you were an expat here. Depending on rental costs V buying another option could be to buy one of the cheaper ones on offer and maybe leave it to someone when you leave, which is somthing a lot of people do with baby equipment.

Well I guess I may be interested in renting,we will be in Bali for 1 month,20 Sept-20 Oct. It would also be O.K. to buy! Mimpi ,I believe the street your refering to may be Jln. Raya Tuban? In that case easy to find and thanks for your info! Gabriele, I am open to that option (renting) just need the details i.e. type, size, where to pick up,price..........
Thanks so much for your help!!

My god Gabriele, you join up just to try to make a quid? :( :(
Give it to someone who can use it, then they in turn can leave it with someone else.

Not sure where you will be based Doug but I went into the baby shop in Jalan Raya Ulawatu today and noticed they have car seats too. They are located directly opposite the entrance to Puri Gading.

Mimpi,
Have 2 homes, rarely go to jimbaren though. But do go to Kuta area to resupply,so the Cendy store could be the one!! I am not a expat YET!! Hope to in the next few years, just building the nest egg......

Yes Clendy's is defintely bigger and better known. They have a "shopping club" of sorts so if you join you get discounts on everything you buy. However as I only go there for one off large items I have never bothered to join. It is frequented far more by locals than expats... so I am guessing it is probably cheaper for a lot of stuff too.
