First of all, Hi to everyone, I am from Rome and this is my first post here. I have been reading a lot of your forums and topic and I have quite enjoied it. I am not planning to move to Bali yet, even if after just 15 days I fell totally in love with the place and I have been thinking about it ever since I've come back..going around stories,forums,news and every little bit regarding Bali...so..ithe 19th of december I am coming back.. even if my finances are straightened and I feel a bit guilty.. but I don't care and I can't wait to be back... From Italy it is truly a long journey,and expensive too.. Anyow... I'll be by myself this time,no boyfriend,no friends and I am excited about it, but I'll probably need many tips from you all.. :? :? :? so this is the first one.. I'll need to be connected as much as I can.. Work in Italy, daughter in London,boyfriend in the middle of the sea.. but mostly of all I have lots of internet needs... I'll be traveling with my laptop (for wireless connections in bars, and I''ve been reading quite enough about connections in kuta e legian...) but I'll be also using my pda so..the question is.. are there any mobile phone company that gives sim cards just for data connections, possibly hi speed, to have one stuck in my pda for instant connections and mail cecking once wireless is not available?. In my hotel for instance there is no wireless facilities.. My first experience with bali was Love at First Sight.. now I hope my second will definitely go for a stable and long lasting relationship as well. I must say I have been also been dreaming about opening a particular italian restaurant in Seminyak/Oberoi.. but this is another story and I won't bother you now with all this. Telkomsel ( Simpati ) has prepaid sim cards that you can use for data transport. The option flash should be activated and you can buy the regular vouchers for topping up the card. You can use the cards in your pda and if you have a 3G phone you can also use it for internet with your laptop. Speed varies between GPRS ( 60 kbps ) to HSDPA ( 200 kbps ). Best is to let the Telcomsel service center help you with the setup and let them activate the flash option. They speak good English there. thanks a lot I have visited the telkom site and I guess I can also get a convenient package, slowly with online translations.. :) I have an htc advantage wich can reach hspa with a card slot that I use just for connection, I am definetely going to be fine,if I can get a flat on 100 hours PAKET BULANAN I am sure i'll be more than covered... you see the only problems with mobile site is ..that I don't understand a word... so it's difficult to arrange tarifs and other stuff... even on my bali phone card.. :? thanks again for your help.. I use Indosat. 230kbps it costs about Rp10,000 per hour. It's pretty realiable and fast as I have had anywhere in Bali or Lombok. http://www.indosat.net.id

thank you all for your answers what I am troubled with at the moment are the idonesian sites where I can't understand a word :lol: so what I need is really a fast and reliable connection for one month at the flattest and chippest rate I can get.. :D so either I'll go to the usual reseller at bing tang in legian and let them suggest or.. if any of you had experience, find help here.. I want a pay as I go card, that has a flat package I could buy,because I don't want a minute charge,since I might be quite connected for work.. thanks so much for your help... again chiara
