adityawarman, you could find a local dump for $10k - personally i'd rather be in spain than live in a $10,000 place in bali (just me)... you should rent there... sure you could live off 1m per month if u want u and your family to live the lifestyle of a middle class indonesian... a labourer's salary is 400,000 rp per month but i sure as heck wouldnt want to try living off that.. if u plan on sending your kids to an international school, well that will be a huge hit to your budget... just an example... ct

Hello I am man from spain married to indonesian from west sumatra and we think on moving to indonesia(we have 3 places we would like to move,Bali,Jakarta or Bandung).What do the expats in bali do for a living?they have companies?they working?they are rich and do not need to work? I was already sent to hundreds of positions for a job in indonesia and never got any reply.Is it very difficult to get a job in indonesia?only very high qualified people can get a job in indonesia?I think many expats in Bali working and they are not qualified people. I am not rich so I need any income.For how long could I stay(me,my wife and a baby) with around 30000 euros=360 million rupiah.As long as I see,many indonesians live with 1 million per month. Are there in Bali houses around 10000 dollars for sale? I wish so much to move to indonesia but have no much money,I am working here in spain in menorca in a hotel as receptionist,but I have degree on chemistry. Any ideas what could I do to live in bali?make a restaurant?how much would I need to make a restaurant?or shop? Best regards Alex

Do some searches within the forum as many of the questions you ask have already been answered before. It is highly unlikely that someone with your skills would find a job in Bali but there may be other opportunities in Jakarta although unlikely. On 30,000 Euro you could live carefully for a couple of years. Hope this helps.

Someone can tell me how much the average per month that I need to live there in bali?here in spain most people live on 1000 euros a month as that is their salary per month average and many times less than that. How much average for a house or villa? Jimbo,do you work in saudi arabia?you worked before in indonesia? what kind of job you do?do your company need employers in indonesia? regards

Average Indonesian income is EUR 1.50 per day :) You can rent a house for 700-1500 USD a year, eat for 5 USD a day. Electricity is about 30-70 USD, (if you dont use AC's), water about 3-5 USD a month. A (new) bike would cost your 1000-1500 USD. Set something aside for Visa costs.

Well, it is the truth :) I have rented a house for 11.5 million per year, 4 bedrooms, garden, garage. I pay a lot of electricity, since I use AC's all day, had to install them myself. (about 1.8-2.5 million each), about 1.5-1.7 million a month. I think my rented house would be worth around 300-350 million at the moment. I once rented a house in Renon, Denpasar, just somewhere, nothing special, but very big, and I paid about 20 million a year. Yes, you can also buy houses for around 100 million. There are actually nice "local" projects offering new houses in that price range... Ok, its not big, and not Seminyak, or on the beach, but... A friend of mine has a 1,5 hectare land, 800m2 villa, on the beach, tennis court, spa (soon), golf practice course, and he drives around his "estate" in a golf cart, and outside a BMW X5. I think he has about 15 staff. Price is estimated at around 2.2 million US He has 40.000 watt electricity if I remember well. Plenty of choice in Bali ;)

I visit balearen island every autum (so... next week). About price ...I think, you must make your experience in bali, to see what you need and what you want ... of course many Indonesian living just with 1 Mil monthly... and many poeple living -like Bert´s description- -Dyah

I know just Indonesian, who living in Madrid or Barcelona... or mix couple Indonesian-Spanish, one of the nice cuople i know is Balines (Wayan) and La Encantadora Raquel. I´ll pm you. Thanks Bert and Dyah and all. I do not mean to live with so little like 1 jutah,of course. When I was in bali a couple of years ago I was spend 6000 euros in just 2 months,every days going out to eat at restaurants,shopping and so on...much more than I spend in my country. I just would like to buy a house between 200 million and 500 million and spend 6 months a year in indonesia.I think O can live with 4 or 5 million per month enough well. I am also thinking in buy house in Bandung west jawa as I been to bandung this year and liked so much. Dyah,Do you have been to Menorca island?how you managed to come here?do you have boyfriend spanish?I know the history od west sumatra and who is adityawarman,I just take that name to register to this forum,not for nothing else. I have been many times to west sumatra,as my wife is from Padang. we live in Menorca now,and yes is so very much beautiful island,a biosphere reserve.
