So I have fired a pembantu. (Been there, done that, a guy from England smiled at me when I told him the story). She is a family member from Dewi (who isn't, I gave up understanding the family relations overhere), but Dewi agreed. The pembantu had some difficulty with calculating the amount she had to give back after shopping, and money lying around wasn't safe either anymore. The pembantu's cousin said something about a sick grandmother and so, but I want to feel safe in my house, sick, healthy or whatever family. Dewi told me that some people are afraid of me, because I have this thing about right and wrong...Now Dewi's older sister works in our house, and her husband comes with her most of the time. They just married. I tell Dewi kindly that they have to go home sometimes too, sleeping overhere shouldn't become a habit.Yesterday I went to Denpasar together with a Dutch friend, in a Car! That's something else then pushing the Tiger up the mountain. Bali looks smaller and more distant from a luxury car. He showed me some of the stores where you can buy western food. I bought 6 beef hamburgers, and ate two of them last night. I am a bad Hindu. The other day I asked an expat: "What's the name of those people where everybody calls eachother brother and sister, have a their "own small religion" and where family marries easily, they wear different clothes for religious purposes, where there is ritual slaughtering, and where a man can have more then one wife ?". I saw him thinking serious for a while and then he smiled.

your weblog is not up to datelast posting was around 29/10 - has nothing happened since then? How is Dewi and the new house..your persecptive of living in Bai is always interesting compared to what we know as visitors. Often find someone says something and something happens or a comment is made and I think "well either Bert or Roy or someone made a comment" and this is what they mean.cheers

I am busy. While I have spend a few months on Bali being surprised and learning new things, I realised its not a big adventure anymore, but that I am married, and there is a future :) In the next few weeks I will have a kitas and working permit, and I can officially work. This may inspire me for new stories...The new house is fine, and Dewi and I are fine, busy getting pregnant. Dewi wants to see something of the world, so we are planning to go to Singapore.
