Staying in tune with the mid term elections on this, just another day for me in Bali has so far been most enjoyable. Voices of reason have prevailed in my home land, and for that, I am most grateful. Americans are remarkable people. In the end, they are faultlessly fair, regardless if they wear bib overalls or Brook's Brothers suits. In the bottom line, Americans can usually tell the difference between right and wrong, but all too often, there is this urge to slam this righteousness down the throats of others. As I see it, the greatest challenge facing Americans is the recognition that we are all citizens of the vast world community. I can also say that my pride, being an American, has never been diminished in any way by all my years of living on Bali. I can smell change in the wind. This change will be positive. This change will eventually neutralize terrorists, as they too will eventually come to realize that terrorism has no effective role in their world any longer. Once we understand that nations are nothing more than farts into the wind, and that as people of this earth, we all share our humanity and diverse culture, this madness will all end. Call me "tropo" or under some influence that denies me any sane thought. For me, I'd rather be "insane" in Bali than "sane" in any other part of the world. But ya, who wouldn't like to listen in when George Jr. calls Nancy in an hour or less to say, "selamat, madame speaker." :P :P :P :P

Well Roy,It is almost over. I stayed up very late last night to watch the results. I don't think it was unexpected. Many of the people I know were fed up with the republicans for many reasons...even my republican friends. It should be interesting to see what solutions the democrats have for the problems facing the U.S. and the world. As the republicans found out after 1994, is is much easier to sit on the sidelines and complain than it is to play the game...I just hope this results in better things happening but I don't have much confidence in that.....

This Tuesday a criminal complaint toward former Secretary of Defence Donald Rumsfeld, former CIA director George Tenet and others will be filed in front of Federal Prosecutor of Germany.Under consideration of the changes in U.S. Congress and Senate and also due the ongoing investigations within the EU due illegal CIA flights, hijacking and torment on EU territory, this could cause a lot of problems for these bunch of war criminals in Washington and also for their boss, George Walker Bush himself! The criminal complaint will be formally requested by the "centre for constitutional rights" under support of other organisations and also some Nobel Prize winners, the German Federal Prosecutor will have to take it serious and become active, she cannot wipe it from the table.Of course neither Rumsfeld nor Tenet will ever show up in front of a German court and even if a process will be started, I doubt that it will end with a sentence, but this investigation will become very unpleasant due media report and formally requests for the current US Government.See for details: http://ccr-ny.org/v2/legal/September_11 ... n_Case.pdfbest regardsThorsten
