Without being too much of a bother, I was hoping to poll some folks on their findings of life in Bali as an expat – hope you have the time to complete.

Far beyond and far below and spot on - that's they world turns, eh. Most people who locate in Bali want to be here.

Hi Cyrus and welcome to the forum.. perhaps you should extend your poll to those who are no longer expats ... those who ARE expats are mostly going to respond in the positive.
As we have said before, life in Bali as an expat can be other than expected, but still wonderful. One of the biggest challenges that faces most is how to survive financially, and there would be heaps more expats in Bali (and other part of Indonesia) if it was easier to make an acceptable living.
Personally I'm in touch with at least a dozen mixed marriage couples that would be living in Bali in a heartbeat if they could survive financially.
Best of luck to you with your planned move - only 26 days and I'm back in paradise but only for 3 weeks

Hi Freo,
Yes agree - financially Bali makes sense for us. Also agree that I'd like to hear from people who have left Bali.. If you don't mid me asking - do you live in Bali or just frequent there? You said you're only there for 3 weeks..

Hi Cryus
I haven't lived in Bali, but lived in Lombok for a year or so. I've been visiting Bali for around 25 years. These days spend time between Bali and Lombok as my husband is from Lombok.
I'm from Perth and we are living there at the moment - couldn't make enough money to support ourselves and family in Lombok, so back here getting more capital together for some day in the future. Whether we live on Bali or Lombok is not decided, either would be great - much more expat life on Bali, but Lombok is quieter which I like.
