I was wondering if any Bali residents or informed non residents can advise if the mobile phone network in Bali is on the blink at the moment? I have been text messaging my girlfriend since the 28th of December without any response and all I get when I ring the number is an engaged tone. Normally reply's are like clockwork and similarly I am not hearing boo from other Balinese friends either. Just curious if the earthquake stuff mentioned in a previous post may have something to do with it?

I dont nkow if its because of the quake or not because earlier in the week it was fine but it took me about 30 attempts to get through to Made on his hp yesterday. Very frustrating. Will be trying again in a while, hope its straight trough as normal.

We are texting Lombok, and sending/receiving quite a few every day (Hari Raya and birthdays and New Years) haven't had any problems with sms, just with using cheap phone cards to ring.

I have been trying to contact relatives in Sulawesi and have yet to succeed after 36 hours.
