Our oldest son Bima was just awarded the Benjamin Bear Award for being top in his class after exams at his school, the Sanur Independent School. Sorry, but I couldn’t resist bragging about his achievement.

Many thanks to all of you for indulging me with this posting of Bima and his award. When I posted this early last night, I showed it to Bima, but I don’t think he understood what it really meant until this morning.
We just finished reading all the wonderful responses....good reading practice for him...and he asked me to say thank you very much for all the kind words.

Geez! What can I say? In the morning, Bima will have a few more posts to read! And that is thanks to Orang, Om Jimbo, Jamie and Adele.
Now, I am really embarrassed, but of course, endlessly grateful for all of these kind posts.
I guess all parents come to realize sooner or later, that no matter their love, influence, or determination to see them through a better life, in the end, our kids respond more to the “non parental” life around them. I see this in my village all the time, thus, I cannot think of a better place to raise our kids than right here, on Bali.
I extend my most heartfelt thanks to all of you, and in the morning, once Bima is awake, he will most likely have his own words to share.

What lovely news to share with all of us when there is so much sad news in the world. I know that your childs smiling face holding his hard earned teddy cheered me up and I shared this thread with all my children who all thought it was fantastic for Bima to win his award.

Very good Bima ... in my exhibition... i work with kids, they ask many question ... and participate on workshops ... it´s would be very nice, if Bima on my side too... you can explain them from childs eye...

The image function can only work when linked to an URL, will mean the photo must be hosted on a website, you cannot link to images on your hard disc.
There are lots of free sites where you can share your photos, just like:
