Looks promising
He hasn't gone into what his service costs and what the prerequisites are, right? Or did I miss something?
Are you going to pursue this for more detail? Or should we check individually? If you do, I'd love to hear more.

Computer confusion
Hi Lothar..Call me an ignorant woman when it comes to computers, but I don't know what the heck is going on in Bali regarding our internet set up...coz for two weeks now I have not had total access to internet only intermittent...5 minutes at a time...and then shut down...I've tried at all hours of the day and night to gain access to the internet but no success. All sorts of strange explanations have appeared on the screen and the mind boggles as to what its all about. The gremlins therein have told me that someone else is using my connection and all sorts if wierd explanations as to why I cannot access hotmail or anything other than please re-enter your password...seems like a million times this has appeared on my screen, also no connection made etc...etc...Frustration is setting in and a modicum of anger is disturbing my efforts to communicate with you all. This has been happening for two weeks now and all sorts of experts have given their input but still I can't rely on Telkom to connect me. We have had intermittent access over the past couple of weeks and ...GUESS WHAT...I got a bill for two and a half million rupiah....for two weeks of trying to access the net. My small mind tells me there is something seriously wrong somewhere...Please Lothar can you offer some advice before I take a hammer to this computer...This situation is very disturbing and as you were so helpful last time I had a computer "crisis".....I beg for more advice....G....
Sanurian
Hi Gloria
I feel for you and you're definitely not alone. There are several things you'd be wise to check before taking a hammer to your computer.
1) Have a good and currently-updated virus scanner (I use NOD32 but there's one called AVG which is free)
2) Have a good and currently-updated adware/spyware/malware programme (such as SpyBot Search & Destroy - free)
3) And this suggestion is one that is usually overlooked: check and replace (if necessary), the cable that runs to your telephone. I just did that a few days ago and my dialup connection is 'blazing' as a result. It cost me Rp100,000 to change the rat-attacked cable in my ceiling and that was by TELKOM guys.
Hope this is of some use.

Sanurian
Hi again, Gloria
Forgot to mention one other thing...a good fire-wall programme is useful, too. There are many available for free: well-known ones include Zone Alarm and Kerio Personal Firewall.
Lothar
Hi Gloria,
Finally I get mails from this forum again - the last one is ages ago, and I have no time to check....

mimpimanis
Did anyone ever sign up with this company?
I am busy going through the archives to see what broadband is available in Bali. If anyone has some up to date information I would be grateful.

mimpimanis, still little changes in the internet connections, lot of planning but no actions. Currently the best broadband connections are tru wavelan (Wirelles using radio waves ).
For this service they will install a big antenna pole in your garden. There are many providers in bali that can offer this service only the prices are very different per provider. Indosat starts with 64 Kbps unlimited for 4.7 million IDR ( I can be wrong on this one ) while providers like channel 11 provide it much cheaper. ( I have bad experience with channel 11 ). A simple search in google would do the trick
