Having been to a person that I found incompetent in the past am now seeking someone that my forum members have had a favorable experience with. Am not seeking anyone capable of a facelift nor skin cancer surgeon (despite some would say the former should be a consideration), just basic capabilities and charging at a reasonable rate that the forum member has used. Thanks

The first one at Kasih Ibu said it was fungus and gave me cream to use for two months. It did absolutely nothing. The next at Siloam Dr. Tinna said go to Dr. Vina . It took many attempts to get the right appointment with her. They would give me an appointment with the Dr. Tina that did nothing and said go to Dr. Vina. I finally went and saw Dr. Vina, and she know immediately that it was skin cancer. I knew all along thar was the problem, but was open to their opinion and so called expertise. So now Dr. Vina has referred me to a Cancer doctor named Dr. Gunawan. I don't know why the skin doctor couldn't do the work. Welcome to Bali. Nothing makes sense. Just accept that is the way.

Have no great experience with skin doctors but did go to Martha Fang (https://www.marthafang.com/) for a long term skin irritant. After giving me some fairly expensive creams I didn't need we got down to the liquid nitrogen which was cheap and mildly painful. It did some good but basically after several treatments I asked if it was simply old age? To which she agreed. It seems to me that unless you have something bleedingly obvious like as a broken leg or large tumors popping up on your ass most medical situations are still, after all these hundreds of years, open to interpretation. I mean if your foot swells up it could be because you stepped in a hole while you were shit-faced, snake bite or gout. Dr. House is the best diagnostician so just watch a couple of seasons - hell, it's usually Lupus. Go with Lupus. It's probably Lupus, or gout.

Roll the dice.I therefore prefer Singapore although cost over there is prohibitive these days.

Certainly appreciate the response, and should intercede to explain my problem amounts to nothing more than blackheads. That being said however,it could be a bigger problem if in the wrong hands.

Personally I am vey sceptical about dermatologists who don't seem to address the causes but simply prescribe expensive and often ineffectual creams.

As a fair skinned bule living in the tropics, I consider myself somewhat of an expert in this field. I've been to pretty much every doctor mentioned so far. 1. Dr. Vina at Siloam is ok but perhaps a little too cautious. If she thinks a mole has a 0.00001% chance of skin cancer, she will conduct a biopsy. I've had a handful with her already. 2. Then I tried Dr. Fang. She is the opposite. She told me not to worry about anything and that I can just self check in the mirror for skin cancer. Only if something really looks wrong then I should consult a doctor. I wasn't happy with that response so I finally found something in the middle. Lumi Clinic in Denpasar (Jl. Teuku Umar) is the best I've found so far. The head dermatologist there - can't remember her name - did a thorough skin examination and knew her stuff. Definitely the most knowledgeable dermatologist I've met on the island thus far. Not just a glorifed makeup artist like so many of these other "dermatologists."Anyway, I know you weren't interested in skin cancer things Mugwump but perhaps Lumi is worth a try for whatever ailment you have. They are not the cheapest around but I was very happy with their professionalism.
