A fellow I know in the US is interested in seeking employment here on a Kitas. He owns a small building construction company and I can attest to his skill and honesty as he has done work for me in the past, but am lost in how to direct him to a potential foreign employer in Bali. It is my understanding that numerous Australian companies are active currently which could be somewhere to pursue, but if anyone can inform me about procedure I would be happy to pass it on.Thanks

Suggest your friend dives into the many farcebook pages devoted to just this subject. In all honesty this forum used to specialize in offering that kind of advice but since the many and huge changes to the visa situation and regulations in Indonesia your friend will be better off asking for the many details elsewhere where advisors have specialized in these subjects. There are so many scammers out there now playing on such general ignorance caused by immense complexity I don't know where to start any more and I don't want the dire responsibility of the consequences of getting it wrong - sad but true. I'm sure someone will jump in.

I can't imagine you will get many positive responses in most Facebook groups.I don't think there would be many openings for foreign construction managers in Bali. Maybe you could try contacting Populaire: https://www.populaire.com/There is huge demand for construction workers in Australia right now. He could try and get into FIFO and commute between Bali and Australia.

Once having experience here, he undoubtedly would want to have his own operation. After reading the numerous complaints from fellow expats being exploited in having villas constructed in recent years it seemed as if it could be a fit for this guy. It is just a matter of gaining experience here.
