We are an American family planning to come to Bali in March on a B211 Business visa from Australia. From my current understanding, we have to fly and quarantine in Jakarta. 1. Is this Jakarta understanding correct?2. How long will we have to quarantine? (I've read from 3 to 10 days so not sure what is true)3. Where is the best place to find the current quarantine hotels?Thank you

Most people do it in Jakarta. Here is the list of hotels you can quarantine in: https://quarantinehotelsjakarta.com/P.S. I googled all of this in about 2 minutes. You should try it sometime

It is hard to say, because we don't what the situation will be like in March, almost 2 months time. I am trying to be optimistic though about Omricon which is currently effecting most of the world. My hope is that it has spread through here already and people have enough vaccinated/natural immunity and go through it without further restrictions/lockdowns.

Nobody can say what the rules will be next week, let alone in March ...

You also need to be prepared if you test positive for Covid. Kind of a crazy story posted in Bali expats FB group. I hope it is ok to post a little here (I removed the names mentioned) I arrived to Jakarta from Abu Dhabi on December 28th, I am a USA citizen. I booked a quarantine hotel for 10 days and arrived to the hotel after the PCR and customs process at the airport. Within 2 hours of arrival to my hotel I was told I tested positive for Covid and needed to be moved to Isolation facility. 3 people in Hazmat suits showed up asking me to go with them to isolation hospital. I refused and stated I needed to ask my embassy first on what the correct protocol and if I can trust these people not knowing who they were. Tim Riley a USA embassy staff member told me I should sign the paperwork and go to the isolation facility. There are two locations they take you selected by their management. C' One hotel or Sulianti Saroso I told them I would only go to C'One. C One hotel is a prison with rats, mosquitos in the rooms, no clean sheets. 15 foot walls with barb wire surrounding entire place and military camo uniforms. I began speaking to other foreigners in the facility and realizing a pattern. At day 10 after their 3rd negative PCR test 90% of the people I spoke to were told they tested positive for Omnicron and transported to the hospital to serve another 10-14 days. I did not meet a single person that did less than 20 days and many were over 30. A young pregnant Russian girl in the video was crying day and night. Almost all people in the C One facility had no symptoms. The food quality is so bad I could not eat it and for some stretches went days without food. The internet is terrible and much of the time did not work. I was worried about speaking out while in the facility due to concerns of food poisoning and corruption. ***** spoke out loudly and stormed around the facility demanding his freedom refusing hospital until they forced him with 10 people (See Video). There are around 40 - 50people at this facility at one time not once did I meet someone that left in less than 20-30 days. Another USA citizen being held here is ***** whom is stuck in the facility and is trying to get out he is in contact with embassy as well. We have 3 USA citizens with complaints filed to Embassy. Why Jakarta over Manado?
I've never looked in to/at Manado that might be an option. I'm 100% certain Jakarta works and come in and I am leaving via Jakarta. Also had a trip there in-between it's definitely the "international hub city" of Indonesia if you ask me. Less chance of flights being cancelled and all that is something to consider too? Perhaps Manado is worth a look, I really don't know sorry?

Only Scoot is flying there directly from Singapore and must have your entire flight, including transit through Singapore booked on a single itinerary. From what I can work out, this means you can only book the first flight on Singapore Airlines with a connecting flight on Scoot (as a subsidiary of SIA). If anyone knows more, please enlighten me.SIA - Transit through Singapore

I'm actually not a huge fan of what Bali's become post pandemic and in no hurry to get back. That said let one winter rattle my bones and maybe I'll be changing my mind. I've done a 14 day quarantine in a hotel before to get in to Perth and not doing it again. Maybe if it drops to 3 days. I think the whole thing is a scam basically. Why did we have to get the vaccine if we still have to sit in a hotel?

There is a lot of things I love about Indonesia but the corruption really sucks. If that was my unlucky dice roll I'd certainly be questioning the moves I busted.
