I buy frozen Dori at Grand Lucky. It has a delicate flavor and is filleted with about 4 pieces per bag. You may then separate into individual freezer zip bags and use when needed.

Local markets buy fresh Mahi-mahi (Dori?) Usually costs up here around IDR35k/kilo for whole fish (usual buy 5/6 kilos each). Gives about 2/3rds of whole weight.

My first taste of mahi-mahi in Bali was many years ago. I wondered what fish it was.Locals told me dolphin. I wasn't convinced so spent time 'researching'. Turned out that it's actually dolphinfish ([B]not[/B] related to dolphins at all).It's name came from Hawaiians.Also found that it has fairly high levels of mercury and links to ciguatera poisoning (depending how it's caught and stored).IMHO, probably not a fish one should eat too often.

I've been eating Mahi-mahi for many years without any negative experiences at all - fact is it's served pretty much everywhere on the island because it freezes so well with no noticeable dryness after thawing. Main ingredient platinum! Wouldn't last 5 minutes. Maybe that's why the locals all seem immune to Covid 19 - all the weak sisters have all been killed off by lead/mercury/cigarette poisoning.

Go to any local market near you and specifically ask for Dori fish. It's the best for me and I know some other people can testify too
