I apologize if this has already been asked but here goes.Travelling to Bali next week and was wondering if I purchase a data only sim card in Bali, can I set up VOiP on my phone and make calls to Australia with the data on the sim or with wifi at our accommodation?I hope this makes sense as I not the most tech savvy person around.Thanks

Yes. I do that all the time. Make sure you have mobile data enabled on your phone with smart switching so that when wifi is available you will automatically switch from your mobile data. I use both Skype and Whatsapp.

I also purchased a Skype number so that I can call people's mobile or landline using internet without them actually having to be connected to Skype. They can also call your Skype number from their landline or mobile but of course you need to be connected. It works really well. It costs me about $9 per month.
