A video showing a heated exchange between foreign tourists and local residents in Temukus Village, Buleleng recently went viral, with the whole incident reportedly leading to the tourist being sent away from the village. "I told you this is a public beach ... All the people can come," a man can be heard saying in the video, which has been shared across various accounts and platforms. According to a report from Kumparan, the tourist allegedly claimed that his renting the villa also meant he had private access to the beach, meaning anyone who wanted to use the beach in front of his accommodations would have to request his permission. The local resident, identified as Gede Arya Adnyana, told Kumparan that the incident occurred on Sunday evening, as he was playing at the beach with his 3-year-old toddler. A child tourist suddenly approached them and started talking in Arabic while Arya tried to explain that he was in that area of the beach because the western side was mossy. "After a few minutes, his father came and started talking rudely, trying to send me away in English. Basically, he said that if I wanted to use this beach I have to ask for permission because he's rented the whole place, from the villa to the beach," Arya told Kumparan. Send them back to their country...

These people were clearly in the wrong but I suspect that has to do with being totally misinformed about the place they were in. I suspect many of us would have reacted similarly to a sudden yard full of belligerent locals shouting at us in a language we didn't know. Care to guess how many Brits used to get off the plane in Miami and go for a walk in some of the most dangerous neighborhoods on the planet?

It's a pity that both sides seem to have forgotten how to converse with each other, it's also a pity the Balinese used such foul language which did nothing to alleviate the situation. As for the "send them back to their country" comment thats the chant of racists around the world.

But some people forget that when in another country they should respect some basic rules with regard to the locals. As example the behaviour / appearance of some visitors from "down under" simply shocks me and they would not last long in my village in France....I haved lived and worked in a dozen countries and visited 40 more during my live.

I suspect the guy renting the villa was told it came with its own private beach,to justify A high rental,,he should have double-checked ,But that's the most intimidation and foul language I have ever heard from a Bali local,,,,disgusting,,,I think a lot of viewers must agree,,,also this sort of attitude towards tourists is growing ,,,,but apart from the filthy language I don't blame them,,and tourism is way down ,,,which is unfortunate for the local merchants etcDon't get me wrong I love Bali and most of its people,,and have learnt to converse basically in bahasa now,,but just in one month I came across a lot of aggressive/unfriendly Balinese ,,very disappointing .
