Hi Everyone. We are a family of 5 moving to Bali July/August 2019 from the Netherlands. We have three sons, who are 2, 4 and 9 years old. We'll be moving to the Canggu/Tanah Lot area and are in the middle of picking the 'right' school for our boys. We are very much interested in getting to know more about Bali family life and hope to find some welcome advice here on Balipod.Manon

Why would you take three children out of one of the best school systems in the world and put them in one that will do them no good? You may have a dream for yourselves but I promise you it will be a nightmare for the kids unless you are only coming for a year. If that is the case then look at home schooling.

Markit makes a valid point but what the children may lose in formal education they may gain in life experience. Living within another culture and opening their eyes to the myriad experiences of living here may develop more mature personalities. (Of course they may not but there are no certainties in life.) You may well consider getting extra tutorials outside the school system to help with whatever shortcomings with schools here.
