Well, yesterday was a good day to erect the temple I bought a few weeks ago. And so it was. Here a picture of the initiation ceremony:http://www.bali-expat-pictures.com/deta ... age_id=57511 chickens were offered.....(and eaten afterwards)Its my first temple in Bali :)

That's very nice Bert, but who is the little bloke peeing in the back ground  How many did you get to the opening.
Bert Vierstra
Ha, thats the Balinese Version of "Manneke Pies" in Brussels...Dewi likes it very much (and the fish, I suppose), costed 3 dollar, excluding the aquarium pomp to get him going.Since his (internal) organs were a bit too small, the poor yellow baby has a garden hose attached  You can buy it anywhere in Denpasar...It was just a family affair...
Tommy
Nice work Bert. Are you planning to have a family-sanggah built as well?

Hi Bert,Cool addition. And as part of your daily offerings, will you include dressing up your "Manneke Pies" with a different costume each day, as they do in Brussels? :)
Bert Vierstra
Well,I must say that Dewi had some concern about the little guy's health, so we may consider it.But today we had the garden replanted with "Rumput Jepang", at about 40.000 per sqm (incl transport etc, small garden) and for now he seems happy enough with with that. And I gave my father in law our old fridge in exchange for planting the grass, we needed a bigger freezer, so he is happy too, never had a fridge before.
Tommy
ouch.. 40K per m2? I buy rumput jepang for about 7K per m2 but then again we do the transport ourselves. It's quite alot of work to do the planting afterwards but gardening IS good for the soul. :P
Bert Vierstra
Maybe my father in law is an extra happy man ;)

Re: RE: A new Temple : Pura BaruBalinese Version of "Manneke Pies" in Brussels
I think you should also consider adding Jeanneke Pis, would be company for the little guy
Bert Vierstra
I wonder how we should position Jeanneke so she can make a sensible contribution to the water features...I am open to suggestions...Drawings? Pictures? :P (by PM plz)
