No wonder National Geographic filmed a movie about Kawah Ijen volcano. It's a must to visit: mysterious, unforgettable and can't be found anywhere else!Imagine you hiking at night, only thousands of stars and breathing body of the volcano. It's surreal but only the beginning! After will start the way down the crater...200 meters inside the active volcano! This is the only place in the WORLD where you can witness biggest acid lake and blue fires which are the result of a sulfur + oxygen chemical reaction. This is the moment when you want to stop the time! Well, that's obvious, because nowhere else you can find something like this http://www.livinginindonesiaforum.org/core/images/smilies/wink.png[/IMG]http://pics.baliforum.ru/images/2016/06/13/4qhSeU.jpg[/IMG]But this hike is not only a physical challenge or emotional explosion, it is also a Social Experience. Why?Because you will be able to see THAT close how the sulfur miners work in a dangerous conditions carrying the baskets on their shoulders all day long. They sell sulfur to factory but how risky their job is....http://pics.baliforum.ru/images/2016/06/20/12121QDXPf.jpg[/IMG]Meanwhile you have a chance to spend some time on your own and reconnect with yourself. Many travelers said they felt a special energy on the volcano..nothing strange, you are on the top of the world and connected to the active living and breathing Kawah Ijen volcano. What can be better than meditation while the sun is rising over the mountain and giving YOU the first glance of Life?Visiting Bali and not climbing the volcano is the worst mistake a true traveler can do http://www.livinginindonesiaforum.org/core/images/smilies/wink.png[/IMG]))Then the natural question would be...HOW TO GET THERE?There are few ways to climb the volcano, you can go by yourself or you can ask a guide for help. When I was in Bali, I went with a guide as I didn't want to bother myself with driving all the way to the bottom of the volcano at NIGHT (well yeah you have to wake up at 2 am or so to get to Batur, for example, on time. If you go to Kawah Ijen, you need to make a long way to Java, another island, take a boat etc etc etc). It's a lot of hassle and I prefer this to be taken care of by a professional.Plus I heard many stories that local guides who wait at the entrance to volcano won't let you in if you don't have a guide yet. They will make you hire one of them and let you go in only after that. I don't know how much of it is true, but I did see many local Javanese boys hanging out at the ticket box offering their guide service. So in the end of the day you will end up paying anyway but most of the time those Javanese guys don't speak English well so you can't ask them questions about the volcano.WHAT I DIDI found a super nice local company that organised tours to Kawah Ijen and other volcanoes. The guide there speaks perfect English and he has been climbing volcanoes about 15 years now. Wait a minute. Did you get it? 15 YEARS! lolHe is a walking volcanopedia and can answer any question about the volcano in Indonesia. And he has a great sense of humor that, believe me, you will need after not sleeping all night and hiking up that mountain. The company name is Indotravelteam and they organize trips few times per week so you can actually pick any date that suits your schedule. They also do private tours if nothing fits you. They have 24 hour trip to Kawah Ijen, 3 days trip to active volcanoes of Java and other trips to Batur, Agung etc.Check out their photos on their Instagram, it's unbelievable! https://www.instagram.com/world.indotravelteam/HOW IT HAPPENSThe company provides full package:Pick up and drop off from a meeting point in Seminyak (Bali)Transport (car, driver, petrol) FerryEntrance fees to volcanoesExperienced and English speaking guide + they have 2 more guides on each side of the group so everybody can move on their own pace! Also the provide for FREE: gas masks, head light, gloves, water, warm cloths if neededOh and also you get a super yummy breakfast after the sunrise in a local Javanese family! It's very tasty and you won't try anything like this in a restaurant. If you want to know the trips schedule or prices, hit them a message on Instagram or here: indotravelteam.world@gmail.comI promise this would one of the MOST wonderful experience of your visit to Bali <3Have you ever been up the volcano?
