Hello, is anyone out there into growing their own vegetables, and Herbs, Flowers? I have been struggling for a few years now, learning what likes to grow here, and what doesn’t. I started out in Padang Bai, and found it very difficult to grow things there due to being so close to the Beach. Either the temperature, or maybe salt in the air, I just couldn’t figure it out.
Now, I’m up in the hills near Mengwi, and am having better luck. Terong, Cabe, Basil, Dill, cilantro, Pak Choy, Anggrek, Gardenias, seem to like it. Plants like lettuce, Broccoli, Cauliflower, Kale, don’t seem to like it. Wild greens like Red and Green Bayam ( Amaranth) and Nettles seem to thrive. I use Neem oil, dish soap, and a tea made from Ginger, and Garlic seem to help slow down the pest! I tried to grow in the soil but found I wasn’t having much luck, so I use pots now of all sizes, and buy potting soil and Cow manure from a local factory. It’s fun to see what grows, and a struggle to pull it off. If anyone out there is growing food, please give us your comment on your luck growing your own Garden. I have a problem trying to grow Thai Basil. I buy the plants, bring them home, and they start getting a few leaves that turn black. What is causing this, and how can I stop this Problem? Ate you able to grow Broccoli, Cabbage, Cauliflower, Kale, Spinach, and plants like this? I would love any suggestions on this Subject! 🙏🤷🏼♂️🤷🏾♀️🍆🥦🥬🫑🥕🧄🧅🌶️
