Calm down old grumpy grandfather.... I am just meaning that being closer to the exit than to the entrance in life, I prefer spending time and money on more "fun" things than watching flowers or plants grow. ON top of that I never had any interest in gardening. Food, yes because I am French Women, wine and fine dining yes because I am French. Music bars yes because that's my generation. Try to go out a bit, listen to AC/DC or Dire Straits, while having a JD and looking at young local women, you'll realize it's not a bad feeling... Concerning geopolitics I suggest you learn to analyse calmly, objectively and without being blinded by your preinstalled ideas. It's nice that you grow orchids and enjoy it so much. The suggestion was to start a new thread for orchids or gardening. That way, others that have an interest in orchids or gardening would have a forum to discuss it with you as opposed to being subjected to the political rhetoric. The spread of nuclear weapons to countries led by zealots is frightening. I suspect that most wesern countries will happily leave this to Mosad to deal with if not actually providing covert assistance and intelligence. As for peace in the region, it has been a long history of wars and claims to have god given rights for occupying various areas. Much like the world everywhere with warring tribes becoming warring states and then warring nations. For Musk to run would require a constitutional amendment. Only US born citizens can be the US president. Hopefully Musk's involvement in the newly created Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) will be successful and the need to have the department beyond its chartered end date of July 4, 2026 will not be needed. Realistically, DOGE will only identify the waste and corruption and other - established means will be used to eliminate the waste and corruption. A tall order indeed. I think Musk keeping his attention on Mars exploration is very important and could provide a unifying effort to bring the population of the US, if not the world back together. Not surprising at all. In my opinion a last ditch effort among many to come to preserve the abomination of corruption that Washington DC and the surrounding environs have become. The move to dismantle the deep state is going to have consequences that will test the administration's resolve and public's patience. Those consequences will on the light side probably mean civil and societal unrest by rental anarchists and on the heavy side a sustained very negative market reaction. I'm concerned enough that I'm contemplating moving more of our portfolio into gold. Just think, if Trump and his team are successful, perhaps there will be an accelerated populist uprising worldwide that willl beat back the insane globalists and their completely illogical climate change agenda.
