Tourist ban on renting motorbikes

The traffic police Technics in Indonesia have not changed for decades . This is the management not the individual police the command orders police to do certain operations example stop motorcycles n cars check for Sim licence, helmet,and licence for bike etc . The command has been using the same techniques for decades instead of using modern traffic police on patrols with power to pull over offenders etc they pull 20 police standing on road stopping people therefore many offences just never get policed example running red lights big problem here not using blinkers indicators to turn or overtake,riding on wrong side of road ,speeding the list goes on most Indonesians don't even know when the line in the middle of road is yellow you can not pass etc. There are thousands of accidents injuries and deaths they are not reported on national TV like western countries how many died this year or month example. Trucks and busses are the worst many are unroadworthy are not safe and many of the drivers are just complete idiots . If you have no experience riding a motor cycle the last place you want to do it is Indonesia.

These idiots are everywhere no helmets no licence no shirt ride like dickheads with no respect for island. They have no idea the Bali government spends huge resources trying to educate locals on wearing helmets follow road rules and respect other road users . I totally agree with the government 3 strikes for same offence kick them out of country . Your quests here in Bali don't disrespect it . And without trying to be racist their is a particular nationality hiding from there president last count around 14000 of them of which 147 are in jail here for various crimes some very serious. Don't bring your arrogance to Bali !

Around 60,000 Russians in Bali at the moment? Now some of the the less well off Russians are apparently working for the rich ones (tour guides, hair dressers, drivers, nannies, massage, translators, motorbike rental, comedians, even one reported working as tukang parkir in canggu!). Enterprising lot. If Russians are perceived to take jobs from the locals (working illegally and not paying taxes) this will put the gov. officials under massive pressure all they way to Jakarta! Just hope what's coming is not causing havoc for the rest.

Yea the Governor has asked the central government to bring in new law if they are caught 3 times not sure if it's 3 they will be deported. And when they get back to Russia they are screwed cuz Putin has deemed them traitors of the mother land and they will be sent straight to Ukraine . So if any of you Russian out there are reading this the first thing I'd do if I was any of you is put a helmet and shirt follow the road rules make sure you have licence and bike is legal cuz the Bali government has had enough

Sorry but I have live in the local desa for 30 years and your assessment is over the top . The reason there is not a big police presence in the desa's is because Bali is a community based system and every Desa has there own form of local police. Learn how the culture works. Yes there are kids racing their bikes etc but its only tolerated to a point and if your an outsider and get caught committing a crime in a desa the locals have their own justice they'll kick the shit out of you The tourist areas are a world away from the real Bali

They deport Americans caught once only -- so the Russkis are getting some slack!. Bali police seek to deport an American for "unethical" attitude. This is the same dude that vented off about polisi looking for foreigners only in Ubud traffic stop.
