Although it happened already more than two weeks ago, I would like to say that I was very surprise when I knew that one of the best fast boats companies in Bali had an accident and two people were dead.Life always will surprise me, because that company it suppose to be the best company in Bali, the boats are made in Australia and the owners are Australians.Many people has been always worry about the security of the fast boats from Bali to Gilis and many people has been asking me questions about that.I am quite sure that many people who travel that day in that boat, bough the tickets with this company because they though it was the savest company in Bali.It is the most expensive as well, double price than the others ones.I guess this totally proof that accidents could happen anywhere, anytime and to anybody, even the good and best companies can have accidents.By the way, not much news around that accident.So sad and my condolences to the victim's families.

Apparently the company SAID it was Oz owned but this appears to have been a slight deviation from reality - the owner is apparently Balinese/Javanese. The prices for all of these boats is about as flexible as anything can be here and depend almost entirely on who you talk with and how bad you want the ticket. Most of the injured had their feet/legs blown off as the detonation was below decks caused by gas fumes, which rise, and blew the floor away. All of these operations are run by people that have no clue about what they are doing - not a marine certificate to be seen and the crew are just friends of the boss. Legal basis - Hope and a Chance.
