We've had Telkom cable TV for about four years and it's been just OK. The picture went blank yesterday and no-one answers the phone. My wife will go to the office tomorrow but meanwhile I'd ask members for opinion on a better service (I live in Kerobokan). We get CBN fiber TV (Dens TV) included in my internet package but the content isn't much to our liking and it keeps streaming then hiccups. We prefer English news channels (BBC, CNN, Al Jazeera, Euronews) and TV entertainment like (Star World, Diva, E) and sports channels...not too interested in the movie channels but would buy all the English speaking channels that's available in the service.I've seen satellite TV services but they only seem to feed one TV...I'd prefer a feed to a TV in the living area and one in the master bedroom.Any advice would be appreciated.

We use the service (UseeTV) that comes with Indihome. I am fairly happy with it. We just get the basic package but seems like they have a promo now and we can get all of the different channels. It works well even when weather is bad and have had just one outage that I know of, the other day. For us the internet works great, tv package is good also. I had Netflix for a couple of months and that was good also. You may need to go through a VPN. The main reason I cancelled it was that you do get sucked in a bit. Lots of good content, but sometimes you can spend a bit of time searching through looking for something interesting.

So your Telkom TV at 4 years old is before Indihome and Usee TV. Is it using a small receiver dish like Indovision or is it some type of copper cable? Like Spicy, I like Indihome which has a phone, Usee TV & Internet, but I still have Indovision. Indovision has just a few hi-def channels and the rest are standard def. Usee TV don't specify, but from just looking many of the channels seem to be hi-def (720p). We get no reception issues to moan about with either Usee or Indovision. I have only needed Indovision service about twice in 10 years - a guy on a motorbike appears usually next day. We have called Indihome service a couple of times in the past year (so that is more frequent but we have 2 houses with Indihome) - you call 147 (if the phone is still working) and it's answered in Jakarta, but the process begins and they are responsive.

you call 147 (if the phone is still working)
As happened the other day when there was no internet impossible to call their service center. Or is there another number you can call from mobiles?

Their website says
147. So I guess you use your local area code. Haven't tried it.

Thanks for the info guys. My Telkom TV comes from a copper wire into my attic and uses splitters to each wire built into the house....to all room TV sockets. It works now and I was told a pole 'fell down' in my region.I've never been overjoyed with the picture quality and put it down to old technology.....so looking for something better.I looked at the Usee website and it's pathertic...why a telco/internet company doesn't have a great website defeats logic.Anyway, I'll persevere and check out UseeTV as my CBN internet package is OK. I'd prefer a better picture quality but similar content as Telkom cable has... but I'd prefer it to serve more than one TV.

Usee TV moviesCan anyone tell me how the movies work with Usee TV through Indihome? We have it at our villa already and trying to figure out if the movies there are included or if you pay for each one?We use the service (UseeTV) that comes with Indihome. Some channels work briefly and then you see a message that you're not subscribed to it and how to pay (if you want it). Certain sports and movie channels are like that. Getting an extra channel costs about Rp50,000/month. As spicyayam said, more channels than usual are currently available as part of a promo.Recently, the UseeTV opening screen has changed and it's confusing. For example, if you want to go straight to Australia Plus TV, you need to dial in its number (889). The confusing interface is still there but if you click the up/down button on the remote (to select a channel in that group), it becomes normal again. Silly, I know, but that's what I've found.

Thanks for that.Thing I am not sure about is I can go into the VOD section, but not sure if I select a movie if I am going to get changed. Any way to check?

Any way to check?
My understanding is that VOD is included in the subscription and you don't get charged extra for watching what's there. I haven't used that feature much myself - just an occasional movie and haven't seen any extra billing. (I have literally thousands of movies already on my hard drives so not very interested.)If you want to check for sure, I guess you need to ring the Telkom 147 number. Good luck with that. Otherwise, just watch some and look at the monthly bill. Sorry if I sound vague about this. Maybe somebody else knows for sure.
