Can't think of how many gadgets I've said goodbye to here, so my point is that any solution you find to your momentary problem will only be temporary.
Best thing you can do is spend the money you'll save on a new Thermomix on learning how to cook yourself.

A repair is a possibility but a replacement was never on the cards. They are fantastic machines but grossly over priced especially when you consider the price of a good meal out here.
I fully take on board your comment regarding the humidity effect.
For your information I am not a bad cook at all but the Thermomix does save time which was important to me when I bought it.
