Pre Covid how many million backpackers entered Bali over say a 5 years period? And how many thousands are itching to jump on a plane when travel settles and flights resume to Bali? So, what happens when many of these arrive at the airport but have less than $2000 given that previously this was not a requirement? Unless there is a procedure for making this requirement known pre flight it will not be good PR if they start deporting people the moment they arrive.
I agree Harryopal, as we all know these folks think RP 100,000 is a fortune. They would be happy to get anything now. Look around and see, almost everything is still closed. I see a need to give these children more of a focus. It doesn’t have to be just going to school, they could be learning a variety of skills, gardening, cooking, sewing, fishing, construction, etc. I see many who can’t even count to ten. That’s sad! They should not be allowed to advance in classes until they have learned what that years classes was supposed to teach. I see one boy that’s in grade four and cannot count to ten which he should have learned in first grade! He plays all day long and is neglected by his parents. This lockdown has gone on long enough. It’s time to open Bali up! Or is this just like what happened in the States during the dustbowl days, everyone borrowed money and couldn’t pay it back so they lost everything and the rich came and snatched it all up. Or could it be about Bali being the last Hindu stronghold in Indonesia? Makes you wonder aye?
