It is with deep regret i advise that our dear friend Philip aka The Sanurian among other titles passed away a few hours ago in Bali. He will always be remembered as my soul brother whom i met in 2005 on this very forum with Bert among other great posters here as my condolences go out to his wife Reni and the many others he met and helped along the way. Great memories in Ubud Sanur Singaraja Kuta & Ulluwatu. May his spirit be with God forever more.

That's terrible news, am deeply saddened to hear this. Met him a few times as my love for Bali steadily grew over the last couple of decades and he was always more than willing to share his vast experiences with an amazing humour and wit. A unique character that's for sure and an honest and kind soul. Pity he didn't write his memoirs, because he had a very interesting life.
In recent years he was reincarnated as JohnnyCool
Rest in peace Phil and thanks for everything.

I was a keen reader of his posts over the years, and enjoyed them. I met him in person a couple of times. I always remember that in my early days of living in Bali he posted saying something like -
I went to Denpasar today and had a list of 5 things to do. I did 3 of them, so not a bad day.
That was at a time when we would drive from Lovina to the south with lists of things to do, and I would invariably get lost somewhere in Denpasar even though I had that book of Bali maps.
So, RIP Phil.
