I take it all back! There is a reason that I haven't been home (America) since 2000 - can't stand the place. Clearly I won't be going anytime soon either.

Just thinking here....When going to Singapore for the EPO process i will be re entering Indonesia on a tourist VOA ( Australian passport )Will these mean i am trying to enter Indonesia on a ticket with no onward destination ?

Yep, but also remember it's not the Indo authorities that are causing trouble (for once) with this it's all the other airlines that are taking your there. Their position is legally correct in that international law stipulates that if they transport you anywhere where a further ticket is required they CAN (not must) be forced to turn you back around and transport you (free) back where they got you.So really it's in yours and their best interests for you to have some proof of an onward journey - valid or not, the airlines will consider the validity of your onward ticket your problem and are largely dis-interested in it once proof has been made.

That's when you may end-up in the airport pokey till you buy an outbound ticket....if you're lucky.
