USD Cheque Cashing

Hi has anyone cashed a foreign cheque with their bank before. I recieved a refund from a US company for a faulty product but Permata Bank dont want to know about it.. Any ideas how to bank it? I am happy to cahnge banks if needed thx

I have a dollar account with BCA, and send wires in dollars which I can withdraw in dollars or by atm with rupiah. Don’t know if that is applicable in your case, but you could ask. Certainly if they held the check till it cleared there is no risk for them, but often logic doesn’t always apply , as they can be a pain in the ass for no good reason to the lowly customer.

I'm not sure that you can - It would have to be drawn on an American bank. Not sure if BCA with a branch in the US would be able to get it into the clearing system, might be worth asking, but unless the amount is substantial it may be more trouble than it is worth. Might be better to just post it to your bank in the US.
