Live here for some months, trying several locations before you invest anything. To get an idea of prices go to a site like rumah123.com, search for "bali propinsi" (i.e. all of Bali). You can narrow the search once you get some idea of what you want. You will be amazed by the price variations but will get some ideas. Have fun!

They'll be lucky to break even on this property when it's all said and done unless some guy with a bottomless bank account comes along. Remember, this is in one of the best locations in south bali. If a house on prime land can't sell here, then I don't have high hopes for the housing market elsewhere.

It is not possible to know realistic valuations in this country because there is no such thing as a qualified surveyor ,and of course most of the property is junk construction .
