Forums are a nice way of sharing information, and can be used for many things, like me exposing some of my life on Bali. If have spend some time at another forum, from a popular visitor of the Bali Travel Forum. It functions as a place for refugees from other fora where there they would be banned soon. He or she lets them. There are some intelligent people there, but most of them are there to "fight", to be naughty kids, Wich is much easier if you can hide behind a nickname. Not all they say is nonsens, some of the things they have to say actually make sense, but it is mostly hidden in a flood of other beep, wich degrades their messages. One member had the courage to mail me personally and offer excuses for some of the things he/she said. It takes a lot of time to "Internet" and I will have to spend more time doing other things then listen and reply to, mostly beep.A expat in Lovina said a few days ago to me, "Never, Never, get involved with the police". He seemed very serious, and told me some examples wich sounded quite funny, but only if you hear it as a story, being the subject would have been awfull. I raised my shoulders and thought we'll see. Today I heard that the police had come to my house to ask questions about me. There were some questions about VCD' and DVD's to my neighbours. On my PC I am able to produce VCD's and together with my digital camera (30 sec recording capability) I have made a movie from a wedding and a movie from new years eve, things I give away for free. The DVD's I have watched, I have given to Dewa Antare to sell on the beach to tourists. I immediatly asked the DVD's back from Antare, they could consider this "work", and I am not allowed to work here, yet. Maybe they think I produce movies here to sell, or have an import business. They will come back. Fortunately the head of Tourism Police in Singaraja knows me, and my sponsor is married to a police officer, so I hope things wil be fine. But they have me scared, because you never know how they will squeeze money out of you, and they will try some day, I've heard. There is a lot to do about the local, popular, "pornographic" Joged dancing. The people in the village seem to like it, but anyone from children to elderly people can see it. I was pretty surprised when I first saw it, couldn't believe my eyes. There are rumours that it is going to be forbidden, there are many protesters. I have recorded this 60 seconds for you to watch this kind of "Joged". This particular performance was on 31 december of this year. Your webmaster was ofcourse invited to join this "dance", as has done it, with shaking knees, it seemed it gave me some respect from my villagers...http://vierstra.com/NewYearsJoged.WMVYou need Windows Media player for this, right click and save to disk if you have a slow connection. If you get the message file not found I've deleted it, cause I have trouble with space on my servers.-
