Beautiful beach, deserted, begging for me to sit back with a surf rod and Bintang. I'm wondering if anyone has tried surf fishing some remote areas of the west areas? I know the gear to get (long cast surf rod and reel) just wondering if anyone has tried their hand at it? I'm about 20 minutes the other side of Balian. Thanks!

Soon after entering Jembrana Regency from Tabanan Regency you will begin to see fishermen on the beach if on an incoming tide. The method is usually still fishing rather than surf casting, but certainly the latter may be employed, and have done so. There are numerous accesses all the way to Negara.

indeed numerous accesses. there are plenty of people fishing in the dark...found it out when I passed there one night and thought it's a good idea to go swimming naked...didn't see anyone ...somehow I made it in the water unharmed but on the way back I entangled myself in at least one fishing line. Pretty embarrassing ;)
