I am in Sanur, we have always used the local warungs.
I have a few regulars worth of mentioning , where I know for a fact I can get a great feed every time, but only so many beef burgers and pizzas I can do.
But what I'm finding more, is places are sending out absolute crap in grab, eg yesterdays food, fat and bone instead of meat, chicken heads (yes I know they eat them here)
Now it's gotten dead quiet at most local places, driving through Canngu it doesn't appear to be like that over there but even some of my favourite haunts are giving me more fat and gristle than steak.
Sure it used to be like this 1/20 meals but not odds stacked against me. To the degree I'm cooking alone.
Anyone else getting the same? Any recommendations in Sanur? I will drop a few names of those that have been consistently good:
MD Warung, great curries if you go over there, DO NOT ORDER IN GRAB SENDS JUST RICE AND BASIC SAUCE ALMOST NO MEAT
Lamis, mate finds it inconstant, I haven't had a drama and love the coffee, but the way meals are cooked does vary.
The Man Shed, a little more expensive but larger/fresher/speak good English, quality up there
The Club House for steak, haven't been in a while, so don't flame me if it's gone to shit. Be prepared to drop 200,000k, but the serving size is massive.
Cupa Cupa corner a recommendation from another member, become a staple for cheap spaghetti both cabonara and bolognaise - does average pizzas, very, very cheap
Good coffee 30k Over the Moon or kopi kiosk, both great coffee both 30k, Over the mood for inside good A/C, kopi corner outside read paper, seems a bigger coffee not sure if it is. Talking hot cafe latte here before y'a'll wanna be saying I'm overpaying.
Feel free to add, post location and area as I'm running low on good haunts to eat.
Most replies to your post seem to have no real knowledge of Sanur, and are frankly talking absolute crap. There are still literally 100s of restaurants and warungs in Sanur - most I would trust for good to great food. I suggest you join the FB group Sanur's Best Dining - it may give you some better insight than what you currently seem to have. If you look up the map they have available, it shows the locations of a snapshot of a couple hundred of the places.
