The government has taken the decision to increase health checks leading up to the Christmas and New Year holiday, leading to thousands of domestic tourists cancelling their plans to visit Bali.
Just as cases were starting to come down in Bal around in October you can see the correlation between an increase in cases with the holiday, so it is not surprising to me that the government made the decision.
Whether you agree with the decision or not, it is going to depend on your views of the current situation.
I know we were thinking of staying in a villa for the holiday, but decided to stay home.
The government’s recent decision to implement a stricter health protocol for trips to Bali during the Christmas and New Year’s holiday has prompted thousands of travelers to cancel their plans to go to the resort island. Based on Bali Governor Circular Letter No. 2021/2020, those entering Bali by air transport are required to present a negative polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test result for COVID-19, at the latest two days prior to the date of departure. Those using other modes of transportation will have to show a negative antigen rapid test result. The regulation will be in effect from Dec. 18 to Jan. 8. Dio Raditya, an employee at a private company, rescheduled his family trip to Bali after learning about the PCR test requirement.
