Ammonium Nitrate without Diesel is ... Fertilizer

Can anyone explain what the point of this was? I meant that ammonium nitrate is all over the world in huge supply. It's called fertilizer. It's ONLY dangerous when someone mixes it with diesel fuel, either accidentally or on purpose.

They were concerned it could fall into wrong hands..where/how did 90 tons of seagull poop ..end up dumped like that...

Actually, if ammonium Nitrate is heated to and beyond 204.4 degrees Celsius, it will expode all by itself. This is what happened in Beirut and of course there are a few fires in storage areas in Bali!
