Electric beach trams coming to Bali??

It could be good for tourists but would probably do little to help congestion. I think these big projects are just a way for officials to make money.

Yes I agree 100% Like those footpaths we see popping up over Bali. For example, the one we see getting built right now on the bypass north of Sanur and then all throughout the main road in Batu Bulan. I guarantee you no one will be using those footpaths but a local friend of mine works for an architecture firm and says these footpath projects are all just a way for local officials to get money from the government and then end up pocketing most of the money

Hahaha that was funny. Where on earth should the government charge the electric vehicles? There is right now not enough electricity for the existing problems

Would someone please enlighten me on what a "beach tram is?" According to this article, the government plans to build electric beach trams in Kuta and Sanur and I'm having a hard time picturing this in my head in addition to having a hard time seeing how effective this will be. Do they mean having trams go down the main streets of Sanur and Kuta parallel to the beach? And does that mean those roads will become forever closed to cars? I think the idea has potential but since this is +62, I don't see things ending up exactly as advertised. Also, aren't there several past, failed attempts at public transit in Bali? How will this be any different? It reminds me of that Simpsons episode where they build the monorail. Marge vs. the Monorail

Yeah, I was thinking the exact same thing. The other day, I saw an article that was saying Bali is having an electricity crisis and if we don't solve it by 2022, then we're in for a bad time. So I'm not exactly sure where they will magically conjure up all this spare electricity for these electric beach trams. Solar and wind are great idea sbut it's nowhere near the point where it can be taken seriously as an efficient power source for large-scale operations. I suggest sacrificing a few Canggu Digital Gonads to the firey gallows of Gunung Agung to appease the Gods and see how that works out for us.
