Moving To Bali from Florida

I am 55, single, have a wonderful dog and can work from anywhere with a laptop. So I am moving to Bali in late October. I would greatly appreciate speaking with anyone who is currently living on Bali to ask questions. In particular I am trying to find out if it is at all possible to bring my two year old purebred Australian Shepard dog to Bali. I'm finding very mixed and conflicting information everywhere I ask. Thank you!

there no mixed info. you cannot bring a dog to Bali legally

Fred is right, there is no legal way to bring your dog to Bali. I think legally you can bring it to Jakarta, then you need to get illegally brought into Bali. Some companies offer this, but I don't want to recommend anyone. Be aware that if you do bring your dog here it could be a target by thieves. You also need to think about your own visa as Indonesia is closed to tourists at the moment. Only KITAS holders can enter (permanent residents) currently. Some agents are offering "business visas" where people seem to be having mixed success with being able to get into the country. Personally, I wouldn't be making any big moves now. On the plus side, if you did move you [I]might[/I] be able to get a good lease deal.

If you really love your dog, I don't recommend bringing it to Bali. It will not have a great life here like in America. Also, like others have said there is no legal way to bring it here. If you do somehow manage to get it in, you are putting your dog at risk of being stolen or worse, poisoned. Both happen regularly on the island. Have seen it first hand several times.

Unfortunately dogs and other pets who got caught will get killed (at least officially)

We brought our dog from the UK 8 years ago (USD $5000!) and the poor thing lasted all of 1 year then died of multiple tropical things he was not equipped (physically or genetically) to deal with. Rehome yours or put it down.

I had once a golden retriever on Bali. Because of the heat he used to lie in puddles when unattended (and how could we always survey). He had two operations which he barely survived (I just say disgusting worms we took out of his meat & ass). I gave him away to a vet living up in the mountains...
