does a root canal has guarantee? we paid 4.000.000 rp and the tooth is broken now

Please I need your opinion or advice based on your experiences. Last November my husband went to one of the best know dental clinic in Denpasar because he had a toothache. The dentist told him that the nerve had to be killed to save the tooth, so he did a root canal, but with the result that he had to pay 4.000.000 rupees because it seems that there were four nerves! When he called me to say that he had to pay 4 million I was very shock and totally surprise! We would never have imagined that he would have had to pay so much money, the most I have paid to do a root canal there, I think it was 1 million, but it seems that that is the price for each nerve and he had four. Last February the tooth that had killed the nerve broke off in a half and he returned to the dentist and it seems that he had two teeth filled, one of them the same one that killed the nerve and charged him 600,000 rp. I have the two receipts. I would like to know if based on your experiences, this type of treatment is guaranteed? I think they may have a guarantee or they would have to, because the dentist killed the nerve to save the tooth and in the end the tooth ended up breaking, so he did not save the tooth! I know that what we have to do is talk to the dentist, but I would like to know please your opinion on this issue and if you have had this type of experience and think if we could talk to them and claim a guarantee. When the root canal is done , the tooth has to be caped to protect it. If you don't cap it the tooth will crack and need to be removed. I think 3mill for a. root canal + 2-5 mill for the crown depending what type of crown.

I have seen them with a large multi surface filling but Fred2 is spot on that they would break.

I agree that if it breaks bad luck but I know that if they are reputible they should offer a BIG discount to rectify if it has only been a few months

Thanks Fred2 In this case it was 4 millions for the root canal, if you have to sum 2-5 millions for the crown does means it could be a total of 6-9 millions of rupiah, in a country where the minimum salary of a person is around 2 millions per a month, to think or hope an average Indonesian person can afford to pay that quantity of money is quite crazy. That is a luxury. I think the dentist didn't explain things clear to my husband and made sure he understood all the procedures and expenses involve, my husband was not aware at all about the total of money he had to spend in order to keep the tooth, he even didn't have idea what a crown or root canal was. He just left the dentist to work! To me it is no right, he is Doctor Sucipto's brother and many expats goes to that place, I guess he took for granted everybody can pay and wants to spend that quantity of money, doesn't matter if it is a local person or an expat. By the way he is a very good dentist, but I think what happened is no right. Another thing I don't understand it is like before to do a tooth canal, it seems there is not way to know how many root there is in a tooth right? because they charge per root! one millions or more for one and my husband had 4! Like Juggler is saying, the root canal it was made at the end of November and the tooth broken in February, in fact it was broken before, but it was around Galungan and Kuningan and my husband was busy and leave it, in March he went to the dentist and he had to pay the tooth filling he made in the tooth broken, I was surprise about that and I asked him if the didn't try to talk to the dentist about a guarantee or to ask why he had to pay that, to me that was not correct in my opinion.
