This is something that's been bugging me a little bit for years and like a loose tooth I keep worrying at it subconsciously. It finally came to the surface today while I was out and about and I decided to ask the oracle(s) you lot. Why are all these grown local men driving around on scooters with covered bird cages on the back of their bikes? It's not only East Bali it's everywhere I've been in the country. On all 9 islands that I've visited. What are they doing?

They show them to their friends. They also have sometimes puppies or fighting cocks. They are like pets and they show them off. Someplace else they are sporting their Porsches...on Bali they are speeding their birds on their bikes hahaha

Aren't they cages for their cocks, as in for cockfighting? Big deal here, good fighters can go for 10 juta and upwards and gambling on cockfights is rampant.
