I am not sure if this person is the first to die in north Bali, but it is the first one I have seen in the news.
It just seems strange that it took him so long to get tested.

The Task Force for the Acceleration of Handling (GTPP) COVID-19 Buleleng Regency, Bali Province, recorded the first positive case of a COVID-19 positive patient from the area who died in the northern region of Bali.
GTPP COVID-19 Secretary of Buleleng Regency, Gede Suyasa in Singaraja, Buleleng, said Sunday the patient died Sunday (7/19) 2020 morning while undergoing treatment at the Giri Emas Primary Hospital.
"Chronologically, this patient initially had symptoms of fever, coughing with phlegm not coming out. He underwent treatment at a private hospital since July 6, "said Suyasa when giving a virtual press statement.
The patient with the PDP 140 code, male, from Sukasada Subdistrict was initially treated at a private hospital.
Because his condition did not improve, the patient moved to another private hospital, but his condition still did not improve, even showing symptoms approaching COVID-19.
"This 30-year-old patient was subsequently referred to the Buleleng Regional Hospital to undergo a rapid test and the results were reactive," he said.
Until Friday (7/17), PDP 140 underwent a double swab (swab) test and the results were positive.
On Sunday (7/19) morning, the patient died and became the first case of death in Buleleng Regency due to COVID-19.
Furthermore, GTPP immediately conducted a funeral using the COVID-19 protocol in the local traditional village setra.
Even though tracing has been carried out, the surveillance team is currently experiencing difficulties in determining direction criteria in terms of transmission that has not been answered, because this man who has been blessed with two children has never been out of the area, never been out of town, never been in contact with the potential such as Indonesian migrant workers (PMI) or contacts with positive cases confirmed COVID-19.
"This is what we continue by the surveillance team even further. At the moment our team also cannot ask for an explanation from the family because they are grieving, "he said.
With the case of death due to COVID-19, he said, GTPP will not distinguish cases that end up cured and cases that end in death.
Every positive confirmed case will be followed up through tracing to ensure who is in contact with the patient, so that the surveillance team can stop when the data and information are stuck.
However, as long as there is new information, even though the confirmed patient has recovered or died, the tracing will continue, because there are still records when the confirmed patient has recovered, it turns out that the new confirmed contact is still occurring.
"The surveillance team must move continuously to reach information until the point of saturation gets data. Included in the workplace concerned we will be tracing. Not only in the scope of the family, so is the environment and work colleagues, "he said.
He hopes the case of death from COVID-19 will be the last case to occur in Buleleng.
"We hope that in the future there will be no more cases of death in the world due to COVID-19. For that, let's follow the government's call to comply with health protocols that must be implemented. wear a mask when you leave the house, wash your hands, keep your distance, apply PHBS, and keep your immune, "said Gede Suyasa.
