If you (or your computer/tv/stereo/dvd/electrical whatever) is suffering under the tropically humid and sometimes salty conditions turn said device off and take a trusty can of WD-40 and spray connector (NOT THE HOLE STUPID! - THE CONNECTOR). While it's still wet with the WD-40 stick it in hole and wiggle vigorously around for a minute or so. Pull out and let all rest a few minutes and dry off. Turn on devise and plug in previously ****ty contact/connector and it either A) now works a treat or B)you wiggled too vigorously and broke the fecking thing or C) no difference so it either worked before and is now prepped to last twice as long or didn't.
