Just heard it's not happening. Too many logistics. Not everyone has the means to stock up on food for 3 days and Bali government doesn't seem to be bailing these poor people out anytime soon so I think we're never gonna see a lockdown in Bali and thank God for that.
Too many logistics? Thousands of 'poor people' struggle to get food for one day, let alone 'stock up'.
I thought one of the roles of 'a good government' would be to help the most disadvantaged in the society being 'governed'.
And not just Indonesia/Bali, but 'big' countries like the USA and smaller ones like Australia. Some countries do better than others with their poorest.
And I mean from a basic start, not just because of a sudden epidemic or worse (like now).
Guess I thought wrong all along.
...Just heard it's not happening..
.
I've 'heard' and keep 'hearing' conflicting versions all over the place. What to believe?
A courier, (picking up a package to send to Jakarta), told me it's definitely cancelled, sort of, by what he's been told.
The bottom line here, IMHO, is that nobody really 'knows' for 'sure' what is or what's not going to (maybe) 'happen'.
My "advice" about the quasi Nyepi thing?
Just wait and see what, (if anything), happens (or doesn't).
