Hello all
Does anyone know what the regulations (permits kitas etc?) are if I wanted to start a business? Would it help if I married my Indoesian gf? At the moment I"m just staying on tourist visas but she has had some great ideas and I'd be interested to try and start something. Would that give me some type of semi permanent residence? I think I looked before and being married and running a business visa was like 5x the price of a marriage visa but i can't really remember
If anyone knows, I'd appreciate some "hands on" experience over just googling stuff myself.
Thanks y'all

Thanks spicy, yeah I’m well aware due to the climate, people’s attitudes, the style of Bali many ideas aren’t executed, but I have multiple ideas as does “wifey” and I think having some items on hand that sell and dipping your finger in multiple pies is the go around here.

If you have a Indonesian spouse its ++++++++.
UD is the basic business license, 0-nil tax only small, single Indonesian owner. cannot employ foreigners
CV small to large business, nil to small tax self assessed, two Indonesian owners (partners) cannot employ foreigners
PMA/company large business, full tax, regulations, etc, Directors. can employ foreigners
My wife uses a CV company in partnership with her father, no one has problems with me working (helping) with the business.

Everyone has ideas for businesses but few people have the commitment to see them through. I think this is just human nature. If you can start the business with minimum capital and your gf can run with it, I would suggest just doing that. If it's successful then you develop a more formal structure.
Many people think you need have an expensive office/shop to get started, but most things can be done from home and can be sold online. If you can't sell it easily market it and sell it online, I would think of something else. Tokopedia for example would be a good way to get started.
If you are married and get the spouse visa, you can help in the family business on an informal basis. The business visa can be used for looking for business opportunities, training etc, but not actually to work in a business, which requires a working visa.

I’m sorta happy just to get partner set up, if I can reduce her dependence on me
It would be easier for us all, even if that means putting up some
Capitol and taking some risks. I appreciate all the advice, cheers guys.

Probably best to setup a CV company , it will come in handy in the future. running costs are very low.

So just so I understand this correctly...you have a gf who is financially dependent on you and you want to make her less dependent on you by giving her thousands of dollars so she can open up a business?
If that's the gist of it, then I need to say be careful. I hope you have been dating her for at least one year and all the red flags have come out and you trust her 100% with this investment. If this is a new relationship, then I'll simply pray it works out for you buddy. Although I gotta say, the odds are stacked against you.

Thanks for the concern, I can see it’s warranted in many cases. I’m exactly 1 year in and know what I’m in for and potentially in for, but it’s money I’d be willing to risk / write off if it all turned to mud and I agree it could.
I’d be asking all the money to be accounted for and It begins to get diverted pull the plug.
Everything I have here is rented or repayment, I really hope it lasts but honestly even if it didn’t consequences aren’t as disastrous as you make them sound.
