Bringing wine to Bali

Hi there, As an expat residentvin Bali is there anyway to bring a case of wine into Bali outside the usual 1 litre alcohol limit? Thanks

I don't like your chances. If you are thinking of bringing it as personal baggage you only need to look at Youtube Indonesian border security clips you will see customs officials pouring out often expensive wines and alcohol when the passenger has more than one litre. You may find a way to bring it in as freight but the taxes would be very steep. On other hand there are posts on this website where people have brought in excessive amounts of alcohol in their baggage without being searched. But you have to accept the possibility of losing the lot.

Not realising the 1 litre limit was specific to duty free only I tried to bring 1 litre this trip as carry on but it had to go in the bins at security in Australia. Glad it was just a cheap bottle, but just posted to give you an idea that you most likely won’t be flying it in.

I think this stems from not being able to bring more than 100ml through customs. If it was packed and checked bagged it would be ok. but you risk losing it at bali customs. There was a post before on here that i liked... it was packing only one bottle per bag, then customs had to try and figure out whose bags were whos going through xray.

Yes, correct it's specific to the 100ml. It was only a very cheap bottle i purchased at Aldi since I wasn't sure it would make it and was able to pick up something similar in duty free for just under $20, but they didn't have that much choose from.
